Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) Guide: What You Need To Know Now

📖 Table of Contents

You’ve got a cycle planned, or you’ve just wrapped one up, and now you’re trying to figure out what post cycle therapy (PCT) actually means for your body and your results. You don’t want to lose your gains, but you also don’t want to ignore the real hormonal rebound that can happen after prohormones. So what’s the right PCT plan, and which PCT products or stacks make sense for you?

  • In this guide, we’ll cover:
  • What PCT is, and what “on-cycle” vs “off-cycle” really means
  • Why cycling matters, and what can go wrong when you skip PCT
  • How long PCT usually lasts, plus when you can run your next cycle
  • What to look for in a PCT formula, by function: testosterone support, estrogen control, prostate, cardio, liver
  • Popular PCT products and PCT stacks we stock, with who each one fits best

Quick beginner read: on-cycle is the period when you’re actively using the hormonal product. Off-cycle is the recovery window after. PCT sits in that off-cycle window, so the goal isn’t just “boost testosterone.” The goal is to manage the drop-off, support normal hormone signaling, and keep training from falling apart.†

What Is Post Cycle Therapy (PCT)

Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) is the plan you run after using hormonal enhancers, most commonly prohormones, to help your body return to normal hormone production. Think of it like the off-ramp after a cycle. The cycle pushes your body in one direction, and PCT helps you manage the downshift instead of guessing your way through it.†

PCT can show up in medical contexts too, like hormone replacement therapy, but this guide stays focused on performance-enhancing hormonal supplement cycles. If you’re thinking about PCT for a medical reason, you’ll want a clinician involved.

Why Do You Need PCT

Prohormones are compounds your body converts into target hormones, that’s why people call them “pre-hormones.” In the physique world, they’re usually used to drive testosterone-like or anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) type effects.† (1)

When you use prohormones on-cycle, your body often reduces its own testosterone production. That’s not unique to prohormones, it’s how your endocrine system protects balance. Your body is always chasing homeostasis, meaning stable internal conditions. (2)

Quick Clarification: Think of homeostasis like a thermostat. If you push one hormone high from the outside, your body often turns its own production down to compensate. That’s useful short term, but it can be rough when the cycle ends.†

Consider This

Melatonin is an easy example. When you take it, you may fall asleep faster, but if you rely on it nightly, sleep can get harder without it. Now swap “sleep” for “testosterone.”†

If you finish a cycle and do nothing, your body may not bounce back quickly. That can show up as low well-being, low libido, water retention, fat gain, and in severe cases, hypogonadism. (3)

Why can’t you just keep running prohormones?

Because the long-term side effects of prohormone and AAS abuse are well-documented. Some of the bigger risk buckets include cardiac disease, mood and anxiety disorders, hypogonadism, liver toxicity, gynecomastia, and infertility. (4)

And it stacks, since your systems don’t operate alone. Knock one off balance and others usually follow. (2)

One common confusion is calling androgens “male hormones” and estrogen “female hormones.” Both matter in both sexes. A key pathway is aromatase, the enzyme that converts testosterone into estradiol. (5)

Some users try to suppress estrogen hard to keep testosterone higher, but long-term estrogen suppression in men can create its own problems, like bone and metabolic issues. (6)

That’s why PCT isn’t just “take a test booster.” It’s a plan, with estrogen management and organ support included when it makes sense.

How Long Should Your PCT Be

A simple rule people use is: time on-cycle should roughly match time off-cycle. In practice, it depends on what you ran, how long you ran it, and how suppressed you got.† (4)

Two factors that change your PCT window:

  1. Dosage and stacking: higher doses and multiple compounds usually mean more rebound and more loss risk during PCT. Lower doses can reduce the drop, but they usually don’t deliver the same on-cycle changes.†
  2. Time between cycles: longer breaks can mean more size loss, but they also give your body more time to normalize.†

When Can You Start Your Next Cycle

It’s commonly recommended to wait at least 30 days after you finish PCT before you run another cycle. It’s also commonly recommended not to run more than three cycles per year.†

Lifestyle Changes During Your Off Season

During PCT, fatigue and appetite swings are common. That doesn’t mean you stop training, but it does mean you train smarter while your body is recalibrating.†

Training adjustments:

  • Avoid overtraining: keep effort high, but don’t grind yourself into the floor.
  • Lower volume, keep intensity: fewer total sets and reps, and focus on maintaining strength.

Nutritional adjustments:

  • Calories: move toward maintenance, or slightly above, so recovery has enough fuel without adding unnecessary fat.†
  • Macros: keep protein solid, but don’t neglect carbs and fats. A lot of hormonal recovery depends on overall energy balance and fat intake.†

What To Look For In A PCT

I see people get overwhelmed here, because every label looks like it’s “the one.” The easiest way to think about a PCT is by jobs, not by brand names. Your PCT should cover the jobs your cycle created.†

Testosterone Booster vs. PCT: What’s the difference?

Most “test boosters” and many PCTs share ingredients. The real difference is intent. A PCT usually includes more estrogen control, plus extra organ support, because you’re coming off a hormonal cycle.†

Also, ingredient categories overlap across supplements. Caffeine is a classic example. It shows up in pre-workouts and fat burners because it can support alertness and physical performance, even when the product category changes. (7)

Testosterone Repair

Testosterone repair in PCT means supporting your body’s own output and the signals that drive it. Some ingredients have better evidence than others, and a lot depends on the actual dose.†

Ingredients commonly used in testosterone-support discussions: (8)

  • Anacyclus pyrethrum
  • Bulbine natalensis
  • Epicatechin
  • Eurycoma longifolia extract
  • Fenugreek extract
  • Horny goat weed extract
  • L-Arginine
  • L-Carnitine
  • Magnesium
  • Mucuna pruriens
  • Pantothenic acid
  • Selenium
  • Shilajit
  • Tongkat ali extract

Some ingredients show mixed results across studies, but they still show up often in PCT and testosterone formulas.†

  • Ashwagandha extract
  • Boron
  • Caffeine
  • Calcium
  • D-Aspartic acid
  • Dehydroepiandrosterone
  • Garlic
  • Ginseng
  • Maca extract
  • Resveratrol
  • Vitamin D
  • Zinc

In real-world PCT shopping, I like formulas that combine a few “signal” ingredients (LH, libido support) with some health basics like vitamin D and minerals, when they’re dosed meaningfully.†

Estrogen Modulation

Estrogen modulation is one of the main reasons PCT exists. For many users, the practical goal is controlling estrogen rebound and supporting a healthier testosterone to estrogen balance.†

The most common ingredient you’ll see in this category is arimistane, also listed as Androsta 3,5-dien-7,17-dione.†

Aromatase inhibitors (AIs): an AI slows the aromatase enzyme, which reduces conversion of testosterone into estradiol. That can shift hormone levels, which is why AIs show up in PCT discussions. (9)

If you want arimistane as a single-ingredient product, we also stock it here: Hi-Tech Arimistane.

Some plant compounds also show aromatase inhibition activity, including mushrooms and grape-related compounds. (10)

In practice, arimistane tends to be the more direct lever people choose in PCT supplements.†

Goal What typically helps Common label clues
Estrogen control† AI support or estrogen metabolism support† Arimistane, ATD, DIM†
Natural testosterone rebound† LH and libido support botanicals† Fenugreek, tribulus, D-aspartic acid†
Hold onto strength† Recovery and training consistency† Often a stack decision, not one pill†

We’ve got both “all-in-one” PCTs and stack options below, so you can match the approach to your cycle and your experience level.

Prostate Support And DHT Inhibition

Your prostate is another area people forget until it becomes annoying. AAS use has been associated with increased prostatic volume and changes in urine flow patterns. (11)

Common prostate support ingredients you’ll see in PCTs:

  • Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens): studied for lower urinary tract symptoms in BPH, with systematic reviews and meta-analyses available. (12)
  • Pygeum africanum: reviewed for BPH symptom support. (13)
  • Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica): studied in BPH contexts, including controlled trials. (14)

One extra angle worth knowing: some people use these botanicals for hair and scalp reasons too, especially when they’re thinking about DHT. Evidence varies depending on the botanical and outcome. (15)

Prostate health can also be part of the broader cycle-support conversation, especially when users are already thinking about DHT, urinary comfort, and long-term health markers.† (16)

Cardiovascular Support

Cardio support matters because prohormones and AAS can raise blood pressure and impact cardiovascular risk markers. (17)

Nutrition science on supplements and cardiovascular outcomes is a mixed bag, but a few ingredients in popular PCT formulas have supportive evidence. For example, grape seed extract has been studied for blood pressure and vascular function. (18)

Common cardio support picks you’ll see around cycles:

  • Multivitamins: a general coverage tool when diet is inconsistent.†
  • Vitamin D: often included in hormone and health stacks.†
  • Fish oil: often used for lipid support.†
  • CoQ10: commonly used for cardiovascular energy metabolism.†
  • Probiotics: digestive and immune support that can help adherence.†
  • Pine bark extract (Pycnogenol): studied for endothelial function and vasodilation. (19)
  • Grape seed extract: studied for vascular function and blood pressure. (20)
  • Policosanol: meta-analysis suggests it can improve blood pressure outcomes. (21)

Individual response varies, but if you’re the type who sees blood pressure creep up on-cycle, you’ll usually appreciate stacks that include pine bark or grape seed.†

Liver Support

Liver support is a big deal if you’re running oral compounds, drinking alcohol, or you’ve had liver enzyme issues before. Alcohol and nutrition patterns alone can shift liver health, then a harsh cycle can add to the burden. (22)

Common liver support ingredients you’ll see in on-cycle and PCT support:

  • Milk thistle (silymarin): studied for liver-related biomarkers and liver disease contexts, with systematic reviews available. (23)
  • NAC (N-acetylcysteine): used clinically in acetaminophen toxicity protocols, and it’s commonly included for antioxidant support. (24)

Some ingredients can also be associated with liver injury reports in certain contexts, especially when stacked aggressively or used improperly. (25)

Examples often discussed in liver injury reviews: Ephedra, green tea extracts, garcinia cambogia, kava, saw palmetto, and usnic acid. (25)

Which PCT Should You Choose?

If you already know you need PCT but you’re stuck between products, start with what your cycle needs most. Not every user needs the biggest stack, and not every cycle needs the same type of support.†

Start With Arimiplex PCT if you want one bottle that covers the main PCT jobs: estrogen support, testosterone and libido support, prostate support, cardio support, and liver support.†

Choose HellRaiser PCT if you like the Arimiplex style of formula but want the estrogen-control side to feel more central. It raises the arimistane amount and adds bulbine to the testosterone-support complex.†

Or Choose PCT-V if you want a more minimal PCT base for a lighter cycle, or if you plan to pair it with a separate testosterone-support product like Apex Male.†

Go With The Blackstone Labs Letro XT PCT Stack if you want the most estrogen-control-focused option in this guide. Letro XT leans harder into that side, while PCT-V covers the baseline recovery pieces.†

Pick The On/Off Cycle Support Duo if you want the easiest start-to-finish plan. Liver-Rx covers the on-cycle support window, then Arimiplex handles the post-cycle phase.†

Try Genesis-1 PCT Stack if training recovery is usually what drops off hardest during PCT and you still want Arimiplex as the hormone-support foundation.†

Or Try The Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals PCT Bundle if mood, libido, daily vitality, and muscle-preservation support are the bigger priorities after your cycle.†

Lastly, Go With The PCT Stack Plus by Blackstone Labs if you want a fuller Blackstone Labs route with organ support, testosterone support, and PCT-V together.†

We stock a range of PCT options, from single-bottle PCTs to full stacks that handle both on-cycle organ support and off-cycle hormone support. The right choice depends on how aggressive your cycle was, and how much you want to simplify your plan.†

Arimiplex PCT by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals

Arimiplex PCT is a comprehensive PCT tablet that hits the core areas: estrogen support via arimistane, testosterone and libido botanicals, plus prostate, cardio, and liver ingredients.

Arimiplex PCT by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals bottle, 60 tablets, showing Cyclosome Delivery branding

Key complexes per serving (1 tablet):

  • Prostate Support and DHT Inhibition Complex: 250 mg, includes saw palmetto, NAC, pygeum, and stinging nettle
  • Testosterone and LH Support & Aromatase Inhibitor: includes androsta 3,5-dien-7,17-dione (arimistane) 37.5 mg, fenugreek 125 mg, tribulus 167 mg
  • Cardiovascular Support: 110 mg, includes pine bark, grape seed extract (95% proanthocyanidins), policosanol
  • Liver Support: 360 mg, milk thistle extract (80% silymarin)

Why it works: The prostate blend lines up with ingredients studied for LUTS and BPH symptom management, like saw palmetto and pygeum. (12, 13)

Testosterone and libido support: fenugreek has human RCT data showing it can affect testosterone measures, and libido-related outcomes have also been studied with standardized extracts. (26, 27)

Cardio and liver support: grape seed extract and policosanol have evidence for blood pressure outcomes, while silymarin has systematic review data in liver contexts. (18, 21, 23)

How I’d use it: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening, which matches the product directions for Arimiplex. If you’ve never used it before, start with 1 tablet daily for the first 3 days, then move to the full serving, and assess tolerance once.

Customer note: “I felt better with much faster progress PCT this time around with arimiplex. This has to be the best combo in one product.”†

HellRaiser PCT by Innovative Laboratories

HellRaiser PCT is extremely close to Arimiplex in structure, but it pushes a couple of dosages higher and adds bulbine inside the testosterone complex.

Innovative Labs HellRaiser PCT bottle image, showing the front label

Serving size: 2 tablets

  • Prostate Support and DHT Inhibition Complex: 250 mg, saw palmetto, NAC, pygeum, stinging nettle
  • Testosterone and LH Support & Aromatase Inhibitor: androsta 3,5-dien-7,17-dione 50 mg, fenugreek 125 mg, tribulus 167 mg plus bulbine natalensis extract
  • Cardiovascular Support: 150 mg, pine bark extract 95% and grape seed extract (95% proanthocyanidins)
  • Liver Support: 360 mg, milk thistle extract (80% silymarin)

What you’ll notice vs Arimiplex: HellRaiser raises arimistane to 50 mg per serving, and it drops policosanol. If you care most about estrogen control being the centerpiece, HellRaiser usually makes sense.†

Prostate and urinary support angle: the saw palmetto, stinging nettle, and pygeum trio lines up with multiple BPH and LUTS studies and reviews. (12, 13, 14)

Testosterone support angle: fenugreek has human data on testosterone measures and libido-related outcomes in men. (26, 27)

Customer note: “Has high concentration of blockers compared to most other aromatase inhibitors. Also supports liver and organ function.”†

PCT-V by Blackstone Labs

PCT-V is the more minimal PCT base in this group. It doesn’t try to cover everything, which makes it easier to pair with a separate testosterone-support product when the cycle calls for more support.

Blackstone Labs PCT-V bottle image, showing updated label design

Serving size: 1 capsule

  • Tribulus terrestris: 250 mg (min. 45% saponins)
  • Saw palmetto berry extract: 160 mg
  • NAC: 125 mg
  • Arimistane: 37.5 mg
  • 5-alpha-hydroxy laxogenin: 25 mg

Who it fits: If your cycle was lighter, PCT-V can make sense as a simpler recovery base. If your cycle was more aggressive, this is the PCT I most often pair with a separate testosterone-support product like Apex Male.†

Ingredient context: saw palmetto has systematic review data for LUTS in BPH, and NAC has clinical use in specific detox settings. (12, 24)

Tribulus reality check: tribulus research is mixed, with some studies showing no influence on androgen production in young men. (28) Other studies look at fertility contexts, not necessarily healthy lifters. (29)

Laxogenin note: 5-alpha-hydroxy laxogenin is a plant steroid, meaning it’s nonhormonal. Some users use it for recovery and muscle retention during the downshift. Results vary person to person.† If you want a deeper breakdown, we’ve got it here: Laxogenin guide.

Customer note: “Complete PCT. Exactly what I need for after my cycles.”†

Novedex XT by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals

Novedex XT is a more targeted estrogen-control style product, and many users pick it when they want an aggressive aromatase inhibition angle.†

Novedex XT bottle image with red and black label, 60 capsules

Key ingredients listed in its proprietary blend include:

  • 3b-hydroxy-androsta-1,4,6-triene-17-one (ATD): an AI-type compound used in aggressive estrogen-control style formulas.†
  • 3b-hydroxy-androsta-4,6-diene-17-one: commonly used in estrogen control blends.†
  • Arimistane: another common AI ingredient.†

Customer note: “I finished my pro cycle and started taking novadex. So far its great. I’m keeping all the gains I made while on cycle and feel great.”†

PCT Stacks

If you want the simplest plan, a single PCT bottle can work. If you want more complete coverage, stacks are usually the cleaner move, since you can address liver support on-cycle and hormone support post-cycle without cramming everything into one formula.†

Coach’s Insight: Most people don’t mess up PCT because they picked the “wrong” brand. They mess it up because they don’t actually run the full plan daily, or they don’t match the stack to how aggressive their cycle was. Keep it simple, and stick to the directions.

On/Off Cycle Support Duo by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals (Liver RX + Arimiplex PCT)

This is one of the cleanest “start to finish” options we carry because it covers both phases. You use Liver-Rx during your prohormone cycle, then you switch to Arimiplex PCT after you finish.†

On/Off Cycle Support Duo product image showing Liver-Rx and Arimiplex PCT together

What’s included:

  • 1x Liver-Rx, 90 tablets
  • 1x Arimiplex PCT, 60 tablets

How to take it:

  • On-cycle: take 3 tablets of Liver-Rx daily
  • Post-cycle: take 1 tablet of Arimiplex in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening

Liver-Rx supplement facts (serving size 1 tablet, 90 servings):

  • Proprietary Blend with Extend-Rx Technology: 575 mg, milk thistle extract, N-acetylcysteine, picrorhiza kurroa extract, schisandra extract, glycyrrhizia, alpha lipoic acid, naringen, 6-7 dihydroxybergamottin

Liver-Rx supplement facts panel image showing 575 mg proprietary blend with milk thistle, NAC, picrorhiza, schisandra, glycyrrhizia, ALA, naringen, and 6-7 dihydroxybergamottin

Why this stack works: It separates the jobs. Liver-Rx focuses on liver and detox pathway support while you’re on-cycle.† Then Arimiplex handles the post-cycle hormone support, estrogen control via arimistane, plus prostate and cardiovascular ingredients.†

Evidence tie-in: silymarin has systematic review and clinical trial data in liver contexts, and NAC has clinical use in acute detox protocols. (23, 30, 24)

Genesis-1 PCT Stack

The Genesis-1 PCT Stack combines InnovaPharm Genesis-1 with Hi-Tech Arimiplex. The idea is simple: Genesis-1 focuses on cellular regeneration and recovery support, while Arimiplex covers the hormone and organ side.†

Genesis-1 PCT Stack product image showing Genesis-1 and Arimiplex together

Genesis-1 supplement facts (serving size 2 capsules, 28 servings):

  • GENESIS-1: 300 mg standardized embryonic humanofort matrix yielding naturally occurring growth factors (listed on label)

How to take it:

  • Genesis-1: 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule in the evening
  • Arimiplex: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening

Practical note: Genesis-1 has 28 servings, so it ends before Arimiplex does. That’s normal for this stack, and it’s built into how it’s set up.†

Who it fits: If you train hard and recovery is usually what falls apart during PCT, this stack gives you an extra recovery tool while still keeping Arimiplex as the hormonal foundation.†

Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals PCT Bundle

The Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals PCT Bundle is built for the person who wants PCT plus additional muscle-preservation and daily vitality support. It includes Arimiplex PCT, Turkesterone 650, and Testosterone 21.†

Who it fits: If you struggle most with mood, libido, and daily vitality during PCT, adding Testosterone 21 can be useful, since it brings tongkat and ashwagandha on top of Arimiplex’s core structure.†

Evidence tie-in: fenugreek in Arimiplex has RCT data on testosterone measures, and saw palmetto has systematic review support in BPH symptom contexts. (26, 12)

Blackstone Labs Letro XT PCT Stack

The Letro XT PCT Stack combines Letro XT plus PCT-V. This stack leans harder into estrogen control, then uses PCT-V for the basics like arimistane, NAC, and saw palmetto.†

  • Letro XT, 60 tablets
  • PCT-V, 60 capsules
