What Is MRM DHEA?

DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is produced in the adrenal glands from pregnenolone and can convert into testosterone, estrone, and estradiol.†

How Does MRM DHEA Work?

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is an endogenous “parent hormone” produced primarily by the adrenal glands (and present in other tissues such as the liver). In the body it can convert to androstenedione, which can then be converted into major male and female hormones.†

How the Body Makes It

• Cholesterol → pregnenolone via the P450scc (side-chain cleavage) enzyme → DHEA via CYP17A1 (which first forms 17α-hydroxypregnenolone, then DHEA).†

What It Does

• DHEA mainly serves as a precursor to more potent androgens like testosterone and DHT, though it also shows mild androgenic activity on its own. It does not bind to or activate progesterone, glucocorticoid, or mineralocorticoid receptors.†
