So what is it?
Well it’s a little different from their Amino Pro because this is like a muscle builder plus almost. So you have a branched-chain amino acid supplement and you even have some whey protein isolate thrown in there and you have some metabolites of Leucine thrown in there as well.
This is for one scoop of the lemonade flavor!
So we got 15 calories, 3 g carbs, 2 g protein, 110 mg of calcium.
Now you have your BCAAs: Leucine, Isoleucine, valine a 2:1:1 ratio.
7 g total meaning that you have 3.5 g of Leucine in there per scoop. Well above the recommended 2.5 g of leucine per serving so they got you covered there by an extra grams! That’s awesome!
They also threw in 2.4 g of whey isolate, that’s going to help increase a little bit of insulin secretion. As well as delivering more amino acids because what are amino acids? They are the smallest part of the protein once it’s broken down and digested.
L-Leucine had been shown to basically help stop muscle breakdown or limit the amount of muscle fibers that are broken down at various times. It does this by reducing the amount of catabolic enzymes in the body or at least filling them with a substance that is other than muscle.
So what does that mean for you? Well your recovery time and the amount of soreness you’re going to have after each workout should be reduced by this. Now these two that I’m referring to are HICA and KIC-calcium. Again metabolites of L-Leucine which has been shown to do everything I just mentioned.
Based on all that from what I see on for a branched-chain amino acid supplement, 9 out of 10 just going off of ingredients.
How to take Dymatize M.P.S.
I wouldn’t recommend more than one scoop at a time because it already meets your Leucine requirements plus it does help the lifespan of your product lasted longer.
So when should you take it? Well one scoop either pre-intra-or post-work or in between meals if you are dieting in a caloric deficit. If it’s pre-work it should be because you haven’t ate anything in a while. Intra-workout is when I take mine just because it helps with endurance factors while working out. If it’s post-work it’s cause I’m not going to have time to get my hands on anything else before I get home or it’s going to be a while before I sit down to eat and it helps with recovery and getting yourself out of that catabolic state post workout.
What to expect by taking it
Well if you’re not taking enough protein, you’ll notice a little more increase in lean muscle mass. In general nothing too crazy here, it’s a supplement and your hard work in the gym and diet in the kitchen are what will make the difference in the long run.
So on label it says expect a little bit of foaming on top at first that will settle down. So since they were nice enough to let us know, I won’t include that in my ratings (I usually drop a point if I see foam). I can see it start to come down so 8.5 out of 10 for mixability.
I’ll give this a go. Dymatize M.P.S. is very sweet, a little too sweet for me but it’s only one scoop at a time so I can tolerate it. All that being said 8 out of 10 for taste.
